'Eid of sadness': Palestinians in Gaza mark Eid among the ruins
Palestinians in the Gaza began marking the normally festive Eid al-Fitr holiday with no end in sight to the Israel-Hamas war that has devastated the territory. In Jabalia, people performed Eid prayers, next to the heavily damaged Khulafaa Mosque. Further south in Deir al Balah, dozens held prayers in a vacant lot. In Khan Younis, dozens held prayers in the yard of a demolished school.
