US policy determined by Israel’s steps to protect innocent Gazans, says Blinken
The US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, said Washington’s policy on Gaza depended on ‘immediate action’ by Israel to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Blinken’s comments come after an Israeli attack on a World Central Kitchen charity convoy that killed seven aid workers. He went on to say the attack was ‘horrific’ and should be the last. The White House confirmed the US president, Joe Biden, spoke with the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and addressed the strikes on humanitarian workers, urging Israel to take further steps to protect innocents.
