A team of architects and scientists from the UK presented a model of a house for life on Mars.
The main goal of the art object is to make people think about how to live with limited resources and within their means in cramped conditions that are not dictated by consumerism, according to the website of the project "Building a Martian Home".
It is often said that we have more technology in our pockets these days than NASA sent to the moon. This project is about seeing what is possible and how far we can go with what we have here and now,” comment the architects.
The house was designed taking into account the climatic features of Mars and the possibility of easy transportation and assembly of a house on the red planet.
According to the authors, the house is not an exhibition or a simulation of Mars, but a research site and a work of art.
The installation will be open to the public at the M Shed Museum in Bristol from August to October.
