Death sentence for British and Moroccan fighters 'fair' - DPR's Pushilin discards chances for pardon or prisoner exchange
Head of DPR Denis Pushinlin discarded the possibility of pardoning the three foreign fighters from the UK and Morocco or exchanging the war prisoners for his soldiers, as he spoke to the press in Mariupol.
"My opinion is that this is a fair punishment for those people who came to kill civilians for money from other countries", Pushilin said.
"I have an opportunity and the right to issue these people a pardon as per our legislation. But I don't see any prerequisites to opt for such direction right now", he told the press.
Last week 3 foreign mercenaries which included Shaun Pinner, Aidan Aslin, and Saadoun Brahim were sentenced to death and according to the law the death penalty is going to be carried by the Firing Squad.
All three were found guilty of taking part in the armed aggression of Ukraine to forcibly take over the Donetsk people's Republic and judge Alexander Nikulin handed down a death penalty to these people.
According to the DPR legislation, the sentenced foreigners have a month to appeal the decision.
