URGENT! Georgia: There is a massive police presence at a Gwinnett County apartment complex after a deputy was shot Friday afternoon.
Gwinnett County police confirmed that a deputy was shot. The officer who was injured has not been identified, but the sheriff’s office said it believes that the officer’s injuries are not life-threatening.
The shooter then barricaded himself inside the stolen car at the complex.
Just before 7 p.m., SWAT teams launched a robot, which then probed a car that crashed into a fence. At one point, some sort of smoke bomb was tossed at the car.
[UPDATE]: The suspect who was barricaded inside a car has been taken into custody.
